Sportswear Retailer Sees $10M Sales Boost After Migrating to Vercel
A leading global sportswear company, with nearly $6 billion in revenue, faced significant challenges with their existing Salesforce Commerce Cloud platform like slow page load, scalability concerns during peak traffic periods, and the limitations of the platform’s architecture.
To address these problems, the retailer decided to work with Vercel on implementing a phased migration to a headless architecture. The process began with the homepage and quickly expanded to Product Detail Pages (PDPs) and Product Listing Pages (PLPs) within two months. The company’s transition to Vercel’s platform resulted in a 500ms reduction in Time to First Byte (TTFB) and ensured automatic failover and function payload redundancy, enhancing both performance and scalability.
The collaboration led to impressive outcomes: a 2% increase in overall conversions, a fivefold surge in peak conversion rates, and a 33% rise in average orders per minute compared to the previous year. The retailer experienced its first Black Friday without any site downtime, culminating in a $10 million revenue increase, reaching $48 million compared to $38 million the prior year.
